Our twins, Evelyn and Eleanor Grace, were born on September 2, 2019. Evelyn was immediately whisked off to the NICU, and we were placed in a room nearby with Eleanor Grace. The hospital staff worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail was taken care of to give us a peaceful and supportive environment during those precious hours of her life. Though our time together was short, we cherished every second we had with Eleanor Grace.
At the Eleanor Grace Memorial Foundation, our mission is to provide comforting, temporary housing for families whose babies are being treated for CHD and other fetal abnormalities at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.
Every week, we stock the freezers with a variety of Blue Apron frozen meals, offering families the convenience of delicious, chef-designed food without the stress of meal prep.
Each Monday morning, volunteers stock Heart House with grab-and-go snacks, perfect for parents heading out the door to spend long days at the hospital with their baby.
The Eleanor Grace Memorial Foundation is dedicated to providing housing and support for families with infants suffering from congenital heart disease (CHD) or fetal abnormalities at St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Our mission is to ensure that parents can be by their child’s bedside as much as possible by offering them a home near the hospital - allowing them to rest, recharge and be the best parents they can be during such a critical time.
Our goal is to lift the burden of housing so that families can focus on what truly matters: bonding with their babies, cherishing precious moments and making the most of their time together, especially in cases where the child’s life may be brief. For babies who are expected to survive, we believe that a parent’s presence plays a vital role in their recovery and long-term development. By easing the burden of housing and giving parents a place to rest themselves, our Heart Houses empower parents to actively participate in their child’s care, giving them the best possible start to a healthy future.
