We welcomed Lucy in 2014, Emma in 2017, and in March 2019, we were overjoyed to learn we were expecting identical twin girls—four daughters! We were in disbelief and so excited.
But at our 20-week ultrasound, our joy turned to heartbreak. One of our twins was diagnosed with severe congenital heart disease, and over the next month, we learned there was no real hope for her survival. Faced with an impossible decision, we chose not to intervene after birth, believing it was the most compassionate choice for her.

The Heart House is a lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom house located in The Hill neighborhood of St. Louis. When rehabbing and furnishing the house, we worked hard to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that is a genuine home away from home for our guests. Our goal was to create a place where families can unwind and recharge after long days visiting their little ones in the hospital. Offering a place of respite will allow these families to gather the strength for the next day so that they can support their little ones wholeheartedly.
